My name is Halia Lewis and I am currently a senior in the Ag/Science Academy at Tracy High School. This is my first year in leadership and my position is Spirit Commissioner. My goal this year is to get out of my comfort zone and see how far I can improve my community. I am excited to be a part of leadership to help and be an impact on others around me. For the last four years, I have been a part of water polo and swimming. Over the last few years, I have been able to create a family with my team, and in my junior year, I was the captain of the swim team. A goal I have is to inspire students and faculty to get involved in school activities and spirit. Activities such as sports, clubs, and after-school activities like attending sports games, homecoming, hoopla week, flower parties, etc. I feel are so important because students and faculty not only should focus on their grades, but also on making fun memories. Outside of school, I enjoy painting and spending time at my grandparent's ranch riding horses and working around cattle. I love that I have been able to share my art through creating letterman designs for student jackets and putting my artwork in art shows. Things I like is my art, but also listening to music, Disney, animals, the color yellow, and hanging out with my friends and family! After high school, I hope to attend a four-year college that has a nursing program so I can become a NICU Nurse. I've always known that in the future, I want to help the community in some sort of way, and I found that passion through the idea of becoming a NICU Nurse. Lastly, I hope that being in leadership will teach me how to better myself, gain more confidence, and get out of my comfort zone. Not only will I be able to take the skills I learn in Leadership to help students. But I will be able to take the skills and use them in my future life to help others.
